Home Science is recognized as a subject at the +2 level by many State Boards and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). At this stage, the curriculum offers a basic introduction to Home Science. It becomes more comprehensive at the undergraduate level, and at the postgraduate level, students can specialize in various branches of Home Science, including Food, Nutrition and Dietetics, Rural Community Extension, Child Development, Family Relations, Textiles and Clothing, Home Management, and Home Science Education and Extension.
